
"THE HEINEKEN GREEN SYNERGY DJ COMPETITON"

Heineken Music and Tempo are pleased to announce the premier of the electrifying
Heineken Green Synergy DJ Competition airing Saturday, February 18th at 9:00 est on TEMPO,
MTV Networks' newest channel spotlighting all things Caribbean.

Filmed October 8, 2005 on the exotic island of St. Lucia, competing DJs hailing from
Antigua, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Curacao,
Dominica, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, Martinique, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St.
Vincent, and Trinidad, took to the stage to showcase their skills in hopes of being
crowned this year's Heineken Green Synergy DJ Champion.

Heineken Music's Green Synergy program is all about Different Beats and creating One Vibe
with the diversity of music that runs so rich in the Caribbean.

On hand for the event was legendary hip-hop pioneer, Phife Dawg, formerly of
"A Tribe Called Quest" and his DJ/producer, DJ Rasta Roots. Both Phife and Rasta's have
roots in the Caribbean and used this competition as a way to give back to these young and
upcoming artists. Over the course of 2 days competing DJs worked alongside Phife and Rasta
learning valuable skills and tools to enhance their art.

The final event took place in Gaiety -- located in the always-exciting area of
Rodney Bay in Castries, St. Lucia -- and captures the intensity of competition while
reflecting Green Synergy's "Different Beats. One Vibe" theme with DJs spinning some of the
hottest tracks in soca, dancehall, reggae, hip-hop, reggaeton, calypso, zouk, house,
R&B and rock! Viewers who tune in will be mesmerized by the tricks, technique, style and
sheer energy of the moment.

For those that miss the premier, Tempo will re-air the programming several times between
February and July 2006. Check your local listings for the Tempo channel in your area and
tune into "Green Synergy" to see all the action that went down in St. Lucia at the
Heineken Green Synergy finals!!
